We're having a girl.
Well, most likely we're having a girl. Cause what the doctor actually says is more along the lines of, "I don't see any evidence of a penis." So that's comforting. But we're going all out with the pink never the less. If the child indeed comes with a penis we'll just start a future therapy fund cause I'm cleaning out and giving away boy baby gear. Anyway, we're in a bit of shock and trying to grasp the concept. Several times a day one of us will say it out loud and then we'll both giggle. Which is kind of odd since I've been convinced from the beginning that the child was a girl. So I'm not sure what the shock is all about. Before we had any children and we would daydream about babies it was always about girl babies. When we found out that Asher was a boy we were like ???? What does one do with a boy? And then we fell completely in love with the sweetest boy in the whole world to the point that now it's kind of hard to imagine anything other than a boy. So we went to the doctor fully expecting to hear, "it's a girl!" And when we heard, "I don't see a penis" I had an internal freak out. "What do you mean no penis? Where's the penis?" Really, there is no winning.
A girl. :) We've had a first name since the beginning of our marriage and had a middle name for a long time but then I decided I didn't like the middle name. Actually I tried changing the first name too but Bill would have none of it. So the brainstorm of a middle name has consumed my few free thoughts since January and we had pretty much decided on a name--but weren't committing. Well, Bill wasn't committing I should say--cause I was convinced by then. After the ultra sound we were talking with the doctor and Bill asked if she had heard any good names lately and she totally said our middle name. Hello! I'm also pretty sure it's the name because every time I've attempted to say it aloud since Wednesday I've gotten all teary and dumb. A girl. We're having a girl. A boy and girl baby--I'm such a happy, lucky momma.
THIS IS SOOOO EXCITING!!!!!!!!!! (Tell me the name. Plllllllllease?!?!) ;)
